That old chestnut…
Except this time it’s true. tl/dr: my next album, ‘Night Tides’ will be coming out in early March.
I’ve finally finished mixing and mastering, two tasks I enjoy although they are probably the least developed of my skills. Regardless, during this process I’ve had time to reflect on how long a journey this album has been.

I started it in February 2024 when all the material I had consisted of field recordings and random sound design experiments. Much of that work was stream of consciousness ramblings and screaming into the void. More on the void screaming in another post. Suffice it to say it wasn’t much of an album then.
It took months to forge all that musical pig iron into something anyone, including me, would ever want to listen to. As I tweak the frequencies and amplitudes of various sounds and musical gestures, I’m flabbergasted at how any of that pile of weirdness was able to turn into something I can listen to and frankly, feel rather proud of. Then again, pig iron doesn’t look much like a sword either.
This is not to say that ‘Night Tides’ isn’t pretty freekin’ weird. It’s also pretty personal and I’m kinda weird too so… I’ll talk more about the making of and how we got here in another post. For now, keep an eye out, once this thing gets through the process and is on it’s way to your ears, I’ll have a lot more to say about it.
With love, your resident composer in the cellar.
